There is a band that came out with some music a couple of years ago that i’ve been rocking out to for that same amount of time… The thing is, though, I fully forgot about them this past year and while looking through my library this morning, it just hit me!
As winter is fast approaching, the little furry animals have been scurrying around, trying to amass a treasure of food for them to gobble down and store for their long hibernation. ”Hibernation” – defined as a state of inactivity and metabolic depression, usually happens around now as the temperature drops and all the trees lose their leaves and plants lose their seeds and fruit.
Wintersleep, the band about whom i was explaining before, is my version of hibernation (strictly because of its name), but their songs are anything but narration of season-long dreams. Their song, Weighty Ghost, is a “fun” song and has been the soundtrack to my life (sorry cudi) since 2008.

A similar band in my mind is Fierce Creatures, whose EP, I Mostri Feroci, is available online now, but whose song, Satan is a Vampire, is an unreal “anytime” worthy song.

BONUS TRACK!!! if both bands were to dial down the energy a bit (not that they should…) they would be something like Galapaghost! Galapaghost, other than sharing part of a name with my dream place, is a solid ukelele based artist from Austin, who are more than worthy listening to.
