She & Him Better Together

If there are two musicians who can always put a smile on my face, it’s Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, and their band She & Him. While M. Ward remains one of my favorite solo artists (Check out M.Ward’s Classics), the addition of Deschanel’s delicately beautiful voice makes for truly special music.

Although I truly enjoy Deschanel’s voice, as there is nothing not to like, I find myself obsessed with She & Him when Ward vocally accompanies her on a track. The result: natural and serene music, literally sounding as if the two share a fateful bond (sorry Ben Gibbard). In my opinion, the two song’s which best showcase this unity are You Really Got a Hold on Me and I Should Have Known Better, both featured on the band’s first album, Volume One. Take a listen as She & Him have transformed these classics into their own.
