Talk about Arcade Fire, I recently found this guy on The Mahogany Blog while surfing the interwebs and saw an Arcade Fire cover by Benjamin Francis Leftwich. Not much to say about him since he’s still starting out (well at least in the internet world because I haven’t heard much about him).
So my personal opinion? Not my style. HOWEVER I think this guy is great… so not my style just means I probably wouldn’t sit and listen to him on my own but I still think it’s good. Yes, this guy has his own thing going on here that we don’t really get much of now a days. Everyone seems to think that adding a bunch of synths and sounds to already good acoustic music makes it better but they just end up fucking it up. This guy actually does this successfully without ruining the acoustic feel to his music. Just one thing Mr. Benjamin Francis. TAKE IT EASY ON THE REVERB!!! The overload of reverb on this track makes the whole thing sound WAY too muddy and just takes away from the whole song.. But who knows, maybe that’s what he was going for.
Enjoy.
