John Lennon, you were the one who was supposed to change the world, and in your leaving it, the world was changed. 30 years is a long time and what you had done for all of us with your music and your activism will forever be remembered and cherished in the hearts of all who have once listened and will listen again.  Here are some songs that I hope will be able to hit home for others the way yours have for me.  All we are saying, is give peace a chance.

First up is The Arcade Fire‘s Modern Man, off of their latest studio release, The Suburbs.  The song might just be my favorite of theirs, and if you’ve read any of my other articles in the past, I tend to rave about the greatness from Montreal (no, not my Habs), the Arcade Fire.  To say that this song is my favorite song from this album is big, because although the Suburbs isn’t my favorite of their three releases as of yet, it is still better than the majority of music that has come out in the past year, nevermind decade…  As someone whose dream of all dreams would be to become a director or a music producer, everything the Arcade Fire has done this decade has blown me away and it can truly be showcased in their videos of Rebellion (Lies) and The Suburbs which was directed by Spike Jonze.

Next is another track from Freedom Or Death, the Toronto band who i posted about the other day, which is a brilliantly made and produced song, which has since been superimposed with an equally as incredible short film, filmed by none other than Spike Jonze, who also filmed The Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs video.  Please understand that this music is more than just instruments together, it really is a form of art that, like videos and films takes real artists to put together into something stimulating, which is what has been done with the song and the video for Lost In Dances.

(PS. Who would be down to see a show by Freedom Or Death in London, Ontario… come on guys, TBT Presents??? Lets get some input for numbers)

BONUS TRACK!!! This Bonus Track is more than just that, it is a song that could honestly carry a site on its own… 10 Mile Stereo by Beach House is one of my favorite tracks (probably the top) from one of my favorite albums of the year!
