Nope, this is not an extension of Sarah Palin (aka. the potential death of international politics)’ reality TV show, and no, she is not trying to bridge into the music industry either THANK GOD.

This band, Alaska In Winter, is basically what I would do if i were to become a musician. Brandon Bethancourt, the founder and key musician of the band pulled my dream move (also what happened with Alexander Supertramp/Christopher McCandles in Into the Wild–probably a top 10 movie in my books) and dropped out of arts school in a nice warm climate, New Mexico’s that is, and then made the mission up to Alaska where he spent an entire winter making music on his laptop while in this tiny cabin. Along with some help from other musicians and friends, Brandon came out with his first album, Dance Party in the Balkans, where you can really see the electro-pop fuse with the genres that each of the other musicians that he brought on board are used to. From Zach Condon of Beirut (one of the best), to Hari Ziznewski’s rap, each song is different according to who is collaborating on it.
