Monsters of Folk – Temazcal

Here is a true Supergroup.  Monsters of Folk happen to be comprised of one of my favorite singers (M. Ward), along with Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes and Jim James from the super-talented group, My Morning Jacket.  Ya, they’ve been working together on and off for the past six years or so, but their first album came out in 2009 and has stollen my heart and my mind.  It really is some great work and I can’t rave enough about the amount of talent these men have together.  Individually, I love M. Ward, She & Him, My Morning Jacket and Bright Eyes, and considering that this is an amalgamation of their musical brilliance and their lyrical prowess, this group is just so overwhelming, yet they make their music so well, i’m amazed that it is quite underrated.  Ya, yesterday i said that OTHERS have claimed the Mountain Goats to be some of the best lyricists ever, but in my opinion, you seriously can’t top the Monsters of Folk when it comes to non-rap lyrics.

Although known, maybe even quite well, I’ve been wanting to post this for a long while and I feel like today is just a perfect day.
