L’Estasy Dell’oro (The Ecstasy of Gold). This song might be the most epic track of all time. Not only in composition and brilliant arrangement, but in title as well. Seriously, i know the majority of you out there will have heard this track, but will not know where to place it and all. I have never seen the movie that made this track famous, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly; yet it ranks up top near #1 on my MUST SEE list, but upon hearing the first bar after my boy Doug sent it my way, i knew exactly what i was listening to. Ennio Morricone in my mind, might have topped John Williams in the war of orchestral composers for movies. Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (the Italian name for the revered Spaghetti Western) really used this stand-off/duel like track to its fullest and has been considered the best western ever and one of the best films overall. The track, however, wasn’t used to set the background for a duel, as it was when Eli Wallach was hunting for a grave filled with hundreds of thousands of American dollars.

The track hasn’t only been used in its original version, and on the movie, as Jay-Z used the track as the beat for his song the Blueprint 2.
