Bibio – Lovers’ Carvings AND Yellow Ostrich – Zebra

Probably last post of the day.  Incredible song by a great band here.  Bibio makes a brilliant track by creating what i would consider the best intro to any song EVER…… With the great guitar intro comes a lot of pressure from the vinyl sounds at first of the sweet-sounding picking as we get eased into the vocal core of the track.  I must say that Bibio shows up huge with this somewhat-recognizable (maybe because its been out for a while, or maybe because i love Bibio and have been listening for a while too) tune witha fun, captivating beat that only enhances the overall feel of the song because of the kinda comedic yet very honest sounds.  Yes, i am personifying the music, only because it deserves to have human characteristics by mimicking human joy and similar feelings.  PS. if i said “they” by mistake there, I really meant “He”–James Wolverhampton– because James is the lone member of this great “group.”

Next up is Yellow Ostrich.  I’ve been listening to YO for a while now and i’ve come to the conclusion that they deserve Pooch’s Props.  Man, this cover of Beach House’s Zebra is a great cover, up there with Yeasayer’s Crazy among my favorites.

[...] If you listen to this, you have to listen until 1:30, or I’ll hate you forever and ever. I just wanted to get that out of the way. I wasn’t really paying attention when I first heard this track, and quickly re-focused my attention on what I was listening to when the “Lovers’ Carvings” went silent around 1:25. Just when I was about to click play on a new song (my initial impression was that it was chill and pleasant, but not necessarily post-worthy), the song rebooted with an absolutely beautiful and more exciting melody. I listened to it on repeat in bed, and used it to wake up this morning as an alarm. Bibio, aka Stephen Wilkinson, has quite some talent, and his album release in March, Mind Bokeh, is something I might have to monitor. [via] [...]
