Being Canadian, I get the best of multiple worlds. I’ve got Canada, which I wouldn’t trade for any other country ever (maybe a lie sometimes, but whatever), I’ve got Canadian music, I’ve got the great nation of America right below us (geographically speaking), the music from those American people and all other music from the world which I can access and share with you via this wonderful thing called the internet. A couple years back I was watching tv, when a commercial for what i think might have been Old Navy popped on with this catchy tune in the background, at which point I ran to my computer to look up the awesome songstress. From that February day back in 2008 (from what I can assume because of the song that was featured in the commercial) I had a true crush on Ontario-born and Toronto-residing musician, Lights.

The tattooed beauty falls into the pop genre, one which I usually don’t let myself indulge in, but over the past four years or so, I have found comfort in just listening to her ballads and captivating synth-heavy, etherial music. I can see this musician (who legally changed her name to Lights upon her full devotion to this chapter of her life) in collaboration with another Toronto genius, Dallas Green, as the two could harmonize, write and perform together in perfect harmony (hate to use that word to the point of redundancy, but what ever). Could be an epic pairing for the ages!
