Searching the Daytrotter archives for hidden gems has become one of my favorite pastimes over the past little bit. If you’re not familiar with Daytrotter, I can only suggest you check out www.daytrotter.com as it holds alternative versions to many of your favorite artist’s tracks.

Located in Rock Island, Illinois, The Horseshack hosts musicians traveling through “America’s Heartland,” who use borrowed instruments to record their Daytrotter Session. Although I may be biased as Justin Vernon is one of my favorite artists these days, but Bon Iver’s July 2008 session is among the best I’ve heard. Check out Creature Fear, Flume and Lump Sum from the recording, you won’t be disappointed.
