Hopefully by now you’ve caught on to my completely unnecessary cliche sense of humor and realized why I was morally obligated to postpone this week’s Sample Sunday to a Monday. I decided to share with all of you guys the extremely annoying song that has been stuck in my head all week with the intention of proving how absolute shit can contribute to the making of more shit… just because it’s catchy. Now please accept my sincere apologies as the song featured in this week’s Sample Sunday will probably be stuck in your head until next week, so don’t say you were not warned. Today I will be sharing some songs that have sampled New Order’s atrocious 1983 single Blue Monday, along with the two samples that New Order used for the featured track.
Let’s start with the actual samples used in Blue Monday.

As far as I know, New Order only used two samples to create this awful track: They used Kraftwerk’s Uranium for the “oohh” cathedral like choir vocals, and Donna Summer’s Our Love for the drums. Correct me if I’m wrong, but to my knowledge, the bass line for the song is 100% original, which is very impressive seeing the impact that the catchy bass line had on other music, especially dance music.
Now the important part, lets look at all the shit that came out of this stupid song. For obvious reasons, I am not going to include or even attempt to list the endless remixes that have been made from this song.

This brilliant song has 4 samples contained therein. If you had bothered to do any research at all, you’d know this.
