Throwback Thursdays – Gifted Singer-Songwriters
Today I’m proud to bring you the inaugural post for TBT’s newest weekly segment I like to call “Throwback Thursdays.” Based on the positive feedback I received from my first attempt at an compilation like this (Throwback Sunday), Nab and I decided that bringing you a weekly dosage of classic tunes would add an interesting twist to the site.
In an attempt to ensure the timelessness of tracks that don’t really need our help at all, we’ll do our best at selecting songs that will add a nice twist to your next new music playlist.
Today’s post features four of the most talented songwriters the world has ever seen (or well see): The Beatles, Billy Joel, Simon and Garfunkel and Don McLean.
Vienna is a song written and preformed by Bronx born musician, Billy Joel. Although I’ve only had the pleasure of hearing it live once at the ACC, I really can’t tell you how many friends I’ve gotten hooked on this song over the years, including Nab and guest blogger E.

Whether you love the work of Post-Impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh or you really don’t (for whatever reason), Vincent (Starry Starry Night) is a classic for anyone who has truly admired or love something in their life.

Fool On The Hill and I’m Only Sleeping are two Beatles songs that i’ve always been able to relate and like to recommend to others.

I can’t help but notice that time seems to be going much faster these days. I’m sure sure whether that means I’m getting older or there is some sort of a shift going on right now, but Simon & Garfunkel seem to be able to put it in perspective with their timeless track, Old Friends.

THE BONUS TRACK: Paul’s Fool On The Hill is my favorite part of The Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour movie. Check out his funny facial expressions now.
