Way back in May of 1999, Scottish indie pop band Travis released their sophomore album entitled The Man Who. Peaking at #1 in the UK and #8 in Australia, it effectively launched Travis’ music career, garnering them international recognition. Among the songs on that standout album is Why Does It Always Rain on Me, a track which, despite being a little on the depressing side has always been a favorite of mine.

Written by frontman Fran Healy, the lyrics suggest that the he was in seriously dark emotional place when he wrote the song and its title isn’t just a reference to the wet climate of Scotland. In any effect, the song is mesmerizing and I’m sure you’ll find yourself singing to it in no time.

In addition to Why Does It Always Rain on Me, I wanted leave you with My Eyes and Sing, another two timeless Travis tracks no music collection should be without.
