Throwback Thursdays: The Guess Who
As a classic rock loving pre-teen, there were several bands that my parents grew up listening to back in the good ol’ days which were in turn passed down to my brothers and I at a young age.
Whether I was listening to classic rock bands off a CD, the computer or the radio in the car, with two native Winnipeggers as parents, you can only imagine how many times I heard that The Guess Who were from their home town (Winnipeg, Manitoba).
With hits such as No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature, Rain Dance and Share the Land, I don’t need to tell you that the band went on to achieve global success, selling millions of records in the process.
What I can say however is that like many great classic rock bands of the 60s and 70s, the timelessness of their music is not something that we shouldn’t take for granted, but rather something we should cherish and share with the younger Beiber loving generation who might actually like it if they gave it a try.
