Wakey!Wakey!

Wakey!Wakey!, an indie pop/rock band from Brooklyn, New York, is an up-and-coming group worth checking out. Led by frontman Mike Grubbs, Wakey!Wakey!’s music combines a number of instruments including the piano, guitar, drums, violin, trombone, and accordian to achieve a catchy and matchless sound.

Last year, Wakey!Wakey! embarked on a worldwide tour that excitedly brought them to Toronto. The intimate Drake Hotel setting allowed Grubbs to hang out with his fans at the merchandise table after the show, and as a huge fan, I was eager to meet him. Not only did he take the time to talk to everyone in the long line, but he was genuinely happy to be there; and after finding out just how sincere and friendly a person he really is, I grew to love his music even more.

I suggest taking a listen to some of his tracks and getting to one of his shows while you still can, because it’s only a matter of time before Wakey!Wakey! blows up worldwide.
