Iron & Wine and Patty Griffin

There’s a very special kind of music that I like to listen to on a rainy day or when I can’t sleep. It’s the type of music that’s soft, slow, and relaxing, and instead of playing around with a ton of different instruments, it typically features just a guitar or piano and a voice. With the gloomy winter weather that we have been having in Toronto lately, I’ve found myself listening to artists like Iron and Wine and Patty Griffin on repeat. Both acoustic in a number of their songs, their music always makes me feel a little bit more relaxed.

I was surprised that neither of these artists have been featured on TBT yet (even though Iron and Wine has been mentioned here and there), so I decided to select a few of their slow tracks as something for you to listen to on these cold winter days (and for those of you enjoying the nicer weather elsewhere in the world, as something peaceful to fall asleep to tonight). Enjoy!
