Back in December 2011, I featured a write-up on Gregory Alan Isakov, a singer-songwriter based in Colorado who I had recently started listening to. At the time, I had fallen in love with his songs “Big Black Car” and “Master and a Hound,” and even though I had purchased all of his albums, these two songs played on repeat in my car for the majority of my holiday break.
Since then, I have had the chance to listen to his albums in their entirety, and not only are they all equally impressive, but they are each the type of album that can be played from start to finish without ever having to skip a track. Featured here are a few of the songs that have stood out to me the most. Take a listen, and if you haven’t done so yet, check out my original post about Gregory Alan Isakov here.
