Recently, the acclaimed Canadian indie band “Arcade Fire” debuted their first single titled “Reflektor”, off their latest upcoming and first double LP of the same name. The single was first released by the band through an intimate surprise show, for just 100 Montrealers under the name “The Reflektors”.
Fans were asked to dress up fancy in “costume attire”. Surely an exciting way to kick off the upcoming release. And if that wasn’t enough, Arcade Fire unveiled another interesting collaboration as David Bowie is featured on the single, which is just one indication of a great upcoming album to say the least!
“Reflektor” goes on for just over seven glorious minutes, and it has been confirmed by the band that the album will be filled with more seven minute plus songs. The song truly explores a new side of the Montreal band, as there is a larger emphasis on percussion. Frontman Win Butler has said that the song is heavily influenced a trip taken to Haiti by the band two years ago, and the “voodoo rhythms” which they heard. The combination of horns, infectious, strong percussion, synths, pianos, and those powerful Arcade Fire vocals we’ve all become accustomed to truly make “Reflektor” a strong single for the upcoming album. “Reflektor” will be available for purchase on October 29th, so start saving your lunch money.
